SAFE Regeneration and Construction Impact Framework (CIF) have announced Ellis Williams the winning Architects appointed to begin works on SAFE Regeneration’s £33million #DestinationBootle project.

The winning team of consultants also include Cost Consultants RLB, Structural Engineers Clancy Consulting, M&E Engineers SI Sealy Associates and BCA Landscape Architects to start the design of this innovative and unique regeneration of one of Liverpool's historic areas.

The Bootle project, which sits alongside the beautiful Leeds-Liverpool canal and is a stone’s throw from docklands, will comprise of community-led housing including a mix of affordable homes for families, shared ownership and extra-care accommodation. SAFE will provide a range of creative activities and services for the new neighbourhood and the scheme includes plans for both ground source heating/Solar PV system, meeting an estimated 99% of the site’s energy requirements along with a 15-20% reduction of energy bills for residents. The development includes the refurbishment of the much-loved Lock & Quay - the City region's only community pub as well as new work units, leisure facilities, a canal-side eatery, guest accommodation, boat moorings & water-based heritage tours of the canal – it is a true jewel in the crown of Liverpool City Region. The development has received over £700,000 worth of funding support from Power to Change, Homes England Community-led Housing pot and the Liverpool City Region Combined Authorities Special Investment Fund, with the full support of Sefton Council to take this £33 million project through to full planning.
